Range Regulations – Schietbaan de Wildenberg
Article 1 – Applicability
- These range regulations apply to all persons present on the premises of Schietbaan de Wildenberg, including:
- shooters;
- visitors;
- instructors;
- employees;
- suppliers;
- other persons present.
- “Premises” shall mean all buildings, shooting ranges, parking areas, catering facilities and all related property belonging to Schietbaan de Wildenberg.
- By entering the premises, every person acknowledges having read and agreed to these regulations.
Article 2 – Laws and Regulations
- All activities on the premises must comply with:
- the Dutch Weapons and Ammunition Act;
- applicable environmental legislation;
- safety regulations;
- instructions issued by competent authorities;
- and these range regulations.
- In the event of conflict between these regulations and applicable law, the law shall prevail.
Article 3 – Access and Authority
- The premises may only be used by persons authorized by Schietbaan de Wildenberg.
- Persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other mind-altering substances shall be denied access to the premises.
- Persons using medication that may affect reaction time, judgment or safety are required to report this to range management or the instructor prior to participation.
- Consumption of brought-in food, alcoholic beverages or other drinks on the premises of Schietbaan de Wildenberg is prohibited.
- Range management reserves the right at all times to deny access to or remove persons from the premises if:
- safety is endangered;
- instructions are not followed;
- undesirable behavior occurs;
- or this is otherwise deemed necessary.
Article 4 – Safety Equipment
- The wearing of:
- hearing protection;
- safety glasses;
- and a cap/head covering
is mandatory for every person present on or near the shooting ranges.
- Failure to comply with this obligation is entirely at the individual’s own risk.
Article 5 – Recreational Shooting and Instruction
- Persons without a valid firearms license or hunting permit may only shoot under the direct supervision of an instructor appointed by Schietbaan de Wildenberg.
- Holders of firearms licenses and hunting permits are prohibited from transferring firearms to persons who are not legally authorized to possess them under Dutch law.
Article 6 – Ammunition and Permitted Firearms
- The use of lead shot is prohibited on the clay target ranges.
- Only shotgun calibers 12, 16 and 20 are permitted on the clay target ranges.
- The maximum permitted shot load is 28 grams.
- The maximum permitted shot size is:
- Trap range: 2.8 mm (No. 6);
- Sporting/hunting course: 2.8 mm (No. 6);
- Skeet range: 2.5 mm (No. 7).
- Ammunition other than stated above is prohibited on the clay target ranges.
- Only calibers permitted under Dutch law are allowed on the 50 meter rifle range, excluding shotgun cartridges.
- The use of PCP weapons on the rifle range is only permitted for persons holding a valid Dutch firearms license.
- Range management is authorized to refuse ammunition or firearms deemed unsafe or capable of causing damage.
Article 7 – Registration and Identification
- Every visitor is required to register upon arrival.
- Every shooter must voluntarily present valid identification, a firearms license and/or hunting permit at the reception desk upon registration where applicable.
- Registration data may be processed in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and the privacy policy of Schietbaan de Wildenberg.
Article 8 – Staff Instructions
- Instructions issued by:
- range management;
- instructors;
- safety officers;
- and other employees
must be followed immediately and in full.
- Discussions regarding safety instructions may only take place outside active shooting activities.
Article 9 – Safety and Reporting Obligation
- Every person present is obligated to immediately report unsafe situations to staff or range management.
- Where possible and safe, persons present are expected to address unsafe behavior by others.
- Safety shall at all times have absolute priority.
Article 10 – Storage, Transport and Handling of Firearms
- Firearms not in use must be placed in the designated racks, cases or sleeves.
- It is prohibited to carry a loaded firearm outside the firing positions.
- Shotguns must be:
- broken open;
- or transported in a closed case or sleeve
- Rifles must be transported outside the rifle range in a closed case or sleeve.
- Carrying firearms with an attached sling is prohibited.
Article 11 – Semi-Automatic Shotguns
- During movement between shooting stations, semi-automatic shotguns must:
- contain a clearly visible safety flag in the chamber;
- or be stored in a case.
- Semi-automatic shotguns may contain a maximum of three cartridges, including the chamber. This limitation must be permanently applied and may not be easily reversible by removing a plug, block or similar device.
- If the firearm is technically capable of holding more than three cartridges, the shooter must present a valid exemption in accordance with the Dutch Weapons and Ammunition Act.
- Loading the firearm is only permitted at the shooting station.
Article 12 – Waste and Environment
- Spent cartridges, packaging materials, scorecards and other waste must be disposed of separately in the designated waste facilities.
- Leaving waste on the premises is prohibited.
Article 13 – Use of Ranges and Targets
- Shooters and visitors may only remain on:
- designated paths;
- waiting areas;
- and shooting stations.
- On the rifle range, shooting is only permitted at targets provided by Schietbaan de Wildenberg.
- Mounting materials and target boards must be returned after use.
- Rifle shooters on the rifle range may only shoot at a distance of 50 meters.
Article 14 – Smoking
- Smoking is prohibited on the rifle range and in other areas designated by signage.
Article 15 – Liability
- Entering and using the premises is entirely at one’s own risk.
- Schietbaan de Wildenberg shall not be liable for:
- injury;
- loss;
- theft;
- damage to property;
- or consequential damages.
unless caused by intent or deliberate recklessness on the part of Schietbaan de Wildenberg.
- Every visitor shall be liable for damage caused by their own actions or omissions.
Article 16 – Sanctions
- In case of violation of these regulations, Schietbaan de Wildenberg may:
- issue a warning;
- immediately terminate shooting activities;
- temporarily or permanently deny access;
- report the matter to competent authorities;
- and recover damages from the offender.
- Serious violations may result in immediate removal from the premises and notification of competent authorities.
Article 17 – Final Provisions
- In cases not covered by these regulations, range management shall decide.
- Schietbaan de Wildenberg reserves the right to amend these regulations at any time.
